Technical Web Site Development & Search Engine Optimisation
tecniche: Your one stop shop for technical and engineering web site design and search engine promotion.
Welcome to tecniche
tecniche is the brain-child of me, Stu. Holding a Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering I have worked in a diverse range of industries across a multitude of professional and manufacturing sectors for the past twenty six years.
My experience of high-end engineering consultancy and factory floor process engineering allows me to swiftly develop an understanding of most engineering practices and processes. It is for this reason that tecniche is unique in the bloated arena that is web development. I understand your technical business.
tecniche is not a web design company, but rather a web development and search engine marketing company. We specialise in producing accessible, standards compliant, websites for the technical and wider community.
Whether you require an improved web presence, help with translating technical engineering terminology into plain English, assistance with improving your site content or you need to increase your search engine exposure then contact me for some straight-talking advice and guidance.
The great thing about working with tecniche is that Stu is a fellow Engineer. He understands technical processes.
I didn't have to painfully explain my business and the services we offer, he simply asked me about our requirements and swiftly put together a proposal with a website mock-up to allow us to visualise the final site.
Since the website went live, we have been inundated with requests for work. We're flooded! You can't ask for more than that...
Featured projects
A small sample of our recent projects. All web sites are hand-coded in HTML5 and CSS and each one has a unique twist and functionality that makes them stand out from the crowd.
tecniche websites are developed to be stable across all common browsers and media devices. The site will look as good using Google Chrome on a PC monitor as it does using Safari on a small-screen mobile phone.
swampcitycoolers.co.uk

Swamp City Coolers produce bespoke lightweight coolers that are tailored to each vehicle and add the vintage look to any classic ride. The coolers are hand made in the UK to the clients requirtements and are available in either 6 inch or 8 inch diameter. With Mark's expert skills, the cooler can be custom painted, have graphics added, and be fitted with range of alternative style end caps to make a truely one off accoutrement to any classic vehicle.
Initially tecniche assisted with the launch and promotion of a FaceBook group to advertise Swamp City Coolers. However, it was soon identified that without a web presence, they were potentially missing a wide swathe of potential clients who are into the vintage car scene, but do not do Social Media.
As well as developing a simple one page brochure site, tecniche created a new brand logo and produced outline advertising literature for Swamp City Coolers.
The new website is a focal point for clients, advertising the available permutations of swamp coolers available, and incorporates a spam-free contact form.
ftc-gb.org

The FTC-GB is an enthusiast run club dedicated to the Ford Taunus family of cars. tecniche were asked to set-up of an international Fabebook Group for the club. With the success of the Facebook Group page, Roy (the FTC-GB Club Chairman) asked tecniche to supply a website for the club.
Following the detailed analysis of the Clubs requirements and some layout mock-ups, tecniche were commissioned to build ftc-gb.org and to develop a search engine optimisation and internet marketing campaign to gain more Club members.
The new website is a focal point for members, new and old, to read about the Taunus Marque, view historic Club newsletters and see detailed write-ups about other Club Members vehicles.
The website is fully "mobile ready", optimised to allow users of phones, tablets and PCs to all view the site as effectively as possible.
curltek.com

Curltek was a performance engine building company, specialising in developing and preparing 289 cu-in Small Block Ford engines. Their chief engineer, Steven Curl, has over 30 years of experience in the restoration, development and enhancement of all manner of engines.
Curltek realised that without an effective web-presence, they were not reaching all perspective clients. Although Curltek have a proven track record in building engines suitable for historic, classic and circuit racers, their clients did not know that they can also repair and develop any engine.
An assessment of their abilities allowed tecniche to determine their range of services and to design a website to reflect their skills.
The website was one-stop shop for advertising Curltek's skills, and has proven to be a success with new and existing clients requesting a range of work to be undertaken.
Unfortunately, after 11 years supporting the company current economic conditions have forced the company to cease trading at present. We at tecniche wish Steve all the best and look forward to re-engaging with him, should Curltek resume trading.
I don't have time to constantly proof read work from web designers who don't understand my business.
tecniche gathered technical information on my company and details our products and did everything; from initial design through to final website.
Formed in 1991, we are the oldest Ford Taunus Owners Group in the UK.
In 2014 a decision was made to rebrand and relaunch the club. With the assistance of tecniche we developed a Facebook Group which grew our online exposure and lead to the development of a website offering advice, support and assistance to club members.
The primary reason to having a website was to recruit more Club members. tecniche undertook an intensive SEO campaign to drive up traffic. Within six months we regularly rank in the top three google results for the most common search terms.
Being a new company offering a unique product we were keen to market across as many media platforms as possible, whilst maintaining a unified and identifiable "look" to the brand.
I know Stu through the customised car scene, so working with tecniche seemed a natural choice. He knows our product.
tecniche initially created a brand identity for our advertising literature, and then developed a FaceBook page to advertise. From reviwing the visitor metrix, we decided that although social media exposure is good we were potentially missing a large section of our market who use the web, but not social media.
The decision was made to launch a website. We are very impressed with the knowledge and flair that Stu has brought to this project. We are now overwhelmed with orders!
Contact me
Before starting tecniche, I enjoyed a varied and diverse professional career in Engineering.
This diversity has included the design and implementation of modifications to production lines to increase output, applying SMED techniques to improve mechanical change-over times in process machinery and the detailed analysis of automotive and nuclear plant using Finite Element Methods, supported by empirical hand calculations.
In addition to this, I am an accredited ISO 9001 Lead Auditor and an accredited Home Office Media Liaison Officer, which (hopefully) ensures that not only do I provide a quality product but that my copy writing skills are exemplary!
